Seattle Neighborhoods and Seattle Washington Real Estate
Nickname of “The Emerald City”, Seattle is known elsewhere as the rainy city. This is a rumor locals like to keep going in hopes of that others won’t move here. Fact is that the annual rainfall of 36 inches is less than Atlanta, New York or Washington DC. Temperate climate with less than 15 days a year below freezing and average summer temperature a mild 75F. Add in the views of Puget Sound from the north on down, the Olympic Mountains to the west, the Cascade Mountains to the east and Mt. Rainier to the south - you have one beautiful place to live.

Like many large cities, most of Seattle’s neighborhoods began as small communities located outside the city limits. As the city expanded it annexed many of these small towns. So you’ll find a large variety of communities and architectural styles from Victorians on Queen Anne to modern high-rise condominiums downtown.
