The Sammamish Rowing Association is hosting an open house on February 18th from noon to 3PM. IF you’ve ever thought about rowing now is the time to find out more. No experience is necessary — come talke with coaches and rowers about adult and youth programs. Held at 5022 West Lake Sammamish in Redmond. See www.srarowing.com for more info.

The South Lake Sammamish Association (SLSA) has worked tirelessly to make this happen. As a part of unicorporated King County, they were frustrated with inadequate police patrols, road maintenance and similar public services. Last fall the Greenwoord Point-South Cove Annexation area voted to join the City of Issaquah and now it’s time to celebrate.

On March 1st, 6:30-9PM, the city will host an open house at Pickering Barn (just east of Costco) to welcome everyone. Issaquah’s mayor and other city officials will be there to celebrate and answer questions about city services.

In addition, SLSA will be hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony and parade on March 4th from 10AM to Noon. There will be refreshments and activities for the kids including tours of a fire truck and police car. See their website for details.

It’s great to see community involvement pay off for residenets on Lake Sammamish.

If you have not yet been over to check out this resort development near Roslyn, you really should. This is going to be a fantastic resort with 3 golf courses, lots of outdoor activities from fly fishing to snow mobiling, a whistler-type village and all just over an hour drive from Seattle. While I’ve heard a few comments from some people about the fact they won’t have the skiing the Bend Oregon or Whistler has, it’s so close to Seattle that I think it’s still going to be a hit — particularly given the price of gas.

I drove over yesterday to check out The Lodge @ Suncadia. The Lodge is a set of condominiums in a hotel type setting right on this bluff overlooking the Cle Elum river and all the surrounding country side. It’s a beautiful location. These units will be selling as furnished studio, one- and two-bedroom configurations that you can then rent back to the resort. For more details you can check them out at www.discoverthelodge.com.

Timeline
There are only 185 units and a very high demand. There will be a $5000 reservation deposit to even be able to purchase a unit. Roughly the timelines is:

  • – Reservations open to current Suncadia Landowners this Friday September 30th
  • – Reservations open to waiting list on Monday October 3rd
  • – Actual sales should be mid-to-late November of this year
  • – Scheduled completion is spring/early summer of 2007

If this of interest to you, please let me know and I’ll get you a copy of the reservation contract. I will also put you in touch with one of Suncadia Lodge’s onsite sale reps if you have more in-depth question. They also have lots available on the course if you are interested in building a vacation home. Check it out at www.suncadia.com
